3. BOOKING FOR TRANSIT: (AS PER ART 12 PAGE 41)

(-)VESSEL MAY BOOK FOR TRANSITING THE CANAL. THE BOOKING NOTICE SHALL REACH THE SUEZ CANAL PORT OFFICES NOT LATER THAN 4 DAYS PRIOR THE TRANSIT BY THE AGENT.
IT MUST CONTAIN THE NAME, DATE AND NATIONALITY OF THE VESSEL, HER TYPE (CONTAINER, RORO.. ETC), HER PARTICULARS SUCH AS DRAUGHT, LENGTH OVERALL, BEAM, SCGT, SCNT AND DWT ETC..

(-)VESSELS BOOKING FOR FIXED DATE WILL HAVE THE PRIORITY TO JOIN THE CONVOY ON THAT DATE, IF THEY ARRIVE WITHIN THE LIMITIME DEFINED BY THE PRESENT RULES.

(-)BOOKING CAN BE CANCELLED OR ALTERED BY NOTICE TO SCA OFFICES AT LEAST 12 HOUR BEFORE THE DATE BOOKED FOR, OTHERWISE, THE VESSEL SHALL BE CHARGED WITH USD 1000. IN CASE OF VLCC LNG ULCC AND SIMILAR VESSELS THIS CHARGE WILL BE USD 3000 DUE TO THE SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS MADE BY THE SCA SUCH AS ESCORTING BY TUGS.. ETC

6. WARNINGS

-VESSEL MUST BE READY IN EVERY RESPECT TO MOVE AND MUST COMPLY IMMY TO INSTRUCTIONS OF PORT CONTROL, OTHERWISE WILL BE PROBLEMS/ DELAYS/EXTRA EXPENSES.
-REPORT TO OUR LOCAL & ATHENS OFFICES ANY UNUSUAL INCIDENT DURING TRANSIT.
-MOVEMENTS IN SUEZ CANAL AREA WITHOUT PILOT OR PORT CONTROL AUTHORIZATION ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED AND ATTRACT HEAVY FINE OF 21.500 USD.
-SHIPS WITH DEFECTIVE RUDDER INDICATOR ARE TOWED IN THE CANAL AT EXORBITANT COST.
-SHIPS WITH MALFUNCTIONING RADAR MAY PASS CANAL DAYTIME ONLY (DELAYS).
-MOORING ROPES: AT LEAST 6 FLEXIBLE FLOATING MOORING ROPES OF APPROPRIATE SIZE FOR THE VESSEL, IN GOOD CONDITION, FITTED WITH SPLICED EYES MUST BE READY AT SUITABLE POINTS ON DECK FOR ANY EMERGENCY. ALL ARRANGEMENTS MUST BE MADE FOR THEIR QUICK HANDLING.

BLANK DECLARATION/ UNDELETED SPACES ARE CONSIDERED AS FULL. DO NOT LEAVE EMPTY SPACES IN THE DECLARATION FORM. NOT TO DO SO WILL INCREASE THE TOLLS TO BE CHARGED.

-THE PERMISSIBLE SPEED: 16 KM / HR. FOR ORDINARY VESSELS AND 14 KM / HR. FOR TANKERS MONITORED BY PILOTS/CHECK POINTS. SHIPS WITH SLOWER SPEED ARE SUBJECT TO FINES. VSLS WITH SPEED LESS THAN 18,52 KLMTRS/HOUR (10 KNOTS) MAY FACE DELAYS DURING TRANSIT.

-ALL SHIPS ARE TO BE SERIOUSLY WARNED AGAINST DUMPING ALL TYPES OF WASTES (SOLID – LIQUID) IN ALL EGYPTIAN REGIONAL TERRITORIAL WATERS. IN CASE OF VIOLATION, LEGAL PROCEDURES SHALL BE TAKEN BY EGYPTIAN AUTHORITIES.
- MILITARY INTELLIGENCE OFFICE/NAVAL FORCES/SCA ADVISED THAT THEIR COMMITTEE WHICH IS CALLED SUEZ CANAL SECURITY TEAM WILL BOARD ALL SHIPS ON ARRIVAL AT ANCHORAGE AREA FOR WEAPONS AND DANGEROUS CARGO INSPECTION. THIS COMMITTEE IS A GROUP FM 4-5 PERSONS AND THEY WILL REQUEST THE FOLLOWING :
- COPY FM THE MANIFEST
- COPY FM PORT OF CALL LIST
- COPY FM NIL LIST
- COPY FM CREW LIST
PLUS TO SIGN AND STAMP THEIR FORM OF INSPECTION.
ABOVE INSPECTION IS FREE OF CHARGE AND WITHOUT ANY COST.
IN CASE OF NON ACCOMPLISHING THE TASK BY THE MEMBERS OF THE INSPECTION COMMITTEE BECAUSE OF THE INTERCEPTION BY THE CAPTAIN OR ONE OF THE CREW TO THE COMMITTEE, THE FOLLOWING PUNISHMENTS WILL BE APPLIED:
- STOPPING THE SHIP FOR SEVEN DAYS AT THE PORT UNDER CUSTODY.
- CONVERTING THE MASTER OF THE SHIP TO MILITARY PROSECUTION OR THE PERSON WHO OBSTRUCTED THE INSPECTION COMMITTEE TO ACCOMPLISH ITS TASK.
- ALL SHIPS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DROP ANCHOR INSIDE OR WITHIN THE TERRITORIAL WATERS FOR THE ARAB REPUBLIC OF EGYPT BEFORE NOTIFYING THE WHOLE VARIOUS COMPETENT AUTHORITIES WITH EXPLAINING THE REASON AND THE PERIOD FOR DROPPING THE ANCHOR IN THE PURPOSES OF TAKING THEIR APPROVALS. IN CASE OF VIOLATION SHIP WILL BE ARRESTED.
NB: WHOLE SUEZ GULF CONSIDERED EGYPTIAN TERRITORIAL WATERS.
-VESSELS HAVE NOT PAID TRANSIT EXPENSES ARE NOT PERMITTED TO ANCHOR SOUTH OF LATITUDE 31 28,7 NORTH AND PORT SAID PORT CONTROL WILL INSTRUCT MASTERS TO DROP ANCHOR IN ANCHORAGE 3 MILES NORTH OF ARRIVAL LIMIT LINE OF 31 28,7 NORTH AND AGENTS TO REPORT NAVY BASE ACCY FOR SECURITY MEASURES.
